Mekong Media’s Voice is an independent online magazine created by a group of journalists and media practitioners from the Mekong Subregion. We provide this space as a forum for sharing stories, situations, events, and people’s opinion concerning the Mekong Subregion and Asia. We aim to provide an accurate, diverse and contemporary information centre built on a wide range of knowledge and experience from journalists and media practitioners within our region.
Our authors and contributors are people with experience in writing and journalism, and extensive knowledge of issues within the Asian Region. All of our writers are from the Mekong Subregion, hence our slogan: "born in the Mekong Region, voice on Asia". Some members of the establishing team are Fellows of the Imaging Our Mekong Programme, (www.newsmekong.org) who met again at the Mekong Media Forum organized by Inter Press Service (IPS) and Probe Media Foundation in December 2009, where the idea for this website was initiated. Our thanks go to IPS for creating the chance for us to continue collaboration among Mekong independent media practitioners to share our views with the world.
In Solidarity,
Mekong Media’s Voice Team
